Description
Minnehaha Falls is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it is one of the most famous waterfalls and parks in Minnesota. This is a beautiful view of Minnehaha Falls on a bright sunny summer day; with a blue sky; sunlit limestone; and green foliage throughout the picture. The water flows into the foreground and you can see the red color of the rocks through the shallow water up front. Minnehaha Creek originates at Lake Minnetonka and discharges into the Mississippi River below Minnehaha Falls.
This painting will be on display at the Minneapolis International Airport, (from December 10, 2021 through the end of May 2022), in the show "MSP Creates Art 2021"! The show is part of the National Arts Program, and is an annual event.

A striking, wilderness waterfall in an urban setting. Overlooking the Mississippi River, Minnehaha Park is one of Minneapolis’ oldest and most popular parks, attracting over 850,000 visitors annually.
Located at the intersection of Hiawatha Avenue and Minnehaha Parkway, the 193-acre park features a 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs and river overlooks. The park contains oak, elm, silver maple, basswood, hackberry and cottonwood trees, as well as native and prairie woodland wildflowers.
