Description
Beautiful autumn day looking south on the St Croix river. This view is from the Wisconsin side of the river, (directly across from the town of "Marine on the St Croix, which is on the Minnesota side).
The St Croix river is the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin, and it's also part of the St Croix National Scenic Riverway (U.S. National Park Service).
I painted this in the early morning (en plein air, as the french call it). I just call it painting outside, but some like to have a special title for it, which is ok too!
The leaves were starting to turn more yellow and orange, which is always a lot of fun to paint.
It was a quiet morning with no wind, with the exception of the fish feeding on the waters surface, making a little noise, with a splash or two.
Another spectacular day to be out in the great outdoors enjoying nature!
